The always on functionality is fantastic, and the build quality is solid.Batteries last for several months with daily use. <div><strong>A cheap investment in  your safety</strong></div>

<p>  This is the first time I have used one of these  devices so I cannot compare to others. Prior to this I would use a multimeter to check  for live circuits and as that is sometimes a bother I did not always put safety first so this device can only be a plus. I generally do not use the warning buzzer, just the warning light. The buzzer was loud enough  in a relatively quiet environment  (working on my own without  significant background noise). In an industrial or busy workshop environment, I do not know if it would be adequate, but I guess that is why we have the light. The tool does what it is supposed to and now I don&#8217;t go near any exposed  circuits without it. I have been using  it for about a year, replaced the battery once,  Naturally, when using it for the  first time  during the day check operation against a known live  circuit before  risking your life on the one you wish to test.</p>

<p>  Great for troubleshooting in j boxes, only makes noise when physically touching the hot wire, unlike other sniffers I have used which sound off if u get anywhere close to somthing hot.</p>
